Green for Kids

As a kid, we have been put in an unfair position of having to worry about such major catastrophes as global warming. We as kids need to realize the impact that we can have on the world around us.

What can we do right now to help the planet?

We can:

• Walk or ride our bike instead of getting a ride
• Unplug all of our appliances and computers while not in use
• Turn off the air conditioner during part of the day
• Change some of the light bulbs in your house
• Take shorter showers
• Turn the water off while brushing your teeth
• Water your plants and lawn only in the morning or evening (water evaporates 5 to 8 times faster during the heat of the day)
• Don't use plastic or paper bags at the grocery store
• Plant a tree or herb garden
• Write a letter to the government.-This is not only your right, but your duty!

Here are some ideas to write about:

• Renewable clean energy
• Global warming
• Protecting our oceans
• Keeping toxic chemicals out of the air
• Education our children about these issues…..GYM
